The
Walton Co. Board of Education amended the way medications are to be
delivered and administered at school. All medications that are to be
administered at school must be accompanied by the Administration of
Medication Request Form. All medications, both prescription and
non-prescription, must be brought in to the school and signed in through
the clinic by the parent/guardian, or by a responsible adult designated
by the parent/guardian.
|
|
|
Administration of prescription and nonprescription medications, even for a short period of time, is discouraged. Parents/guardians should check with the student’s physician regarding the need for medication to be administered during school hours. Medications prescribed 3 times daily often can be administered before school, after school and at bedtime.
